ADVOCATING
FOR ALICE
Beyond meeting urgent needs, UWSCMI addresses the root causes of social needs through
advocacy. We promote equitable public policies and actions that remove barriers and improve
access to housing, education, child care, and economic opportunity.
Our advocacy efforts are informed by our work in community, and rooted in ALICE data. By lifting up
community voices and working alongside partners and policymakers, we help shape systems that
work better for everyone—especially those who are most often left behind.
