PRIORITY AREA
HEALTHY
COMMUNITIES
When people lack access to nutritious food or quality
health care, that leap from surviving to thriving can
feel out of reach. Our Healthy Communities work
is built on a simple belief: a community where
everyone thrives is one where every person
has access to the resources they need to lead
healthy lives.
Food Security
UWSCMI supports efforts throughout the region
that ensure families have enough to eat. That
includes events like the NALC Stamp Out Hunger
Food Drive that gathers thousands of pounds of
food across our region each year. It includes our
team’s volunteer hours at places like the Tri-County
Food Pantry and Loaves & Fishes. Lastly, it includes
partnerships like the one between UWSCMI, WK
Kellogg Co and Post Consumer Brands, which
together host several discount cereal sales open to the
public each year.
